The Old Mill Boathouse
The Old Mill Boathouse at Broxbourne was established in 1928 by Mr. Harry Sykes, a boat builder from Clapham and Professional Coach to North London Rowing Clubs.

Rowing, sailing and motor boats were built together with a fleet of hire craft. A waterman of great character, Harry Sykes was a talented performer at regattas with his exhbitions of rowing and sculling - including rowing underwater! He also coached the Broxbourne Rowing Club crews. On his retirement the establishment was taken over by the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority.
