Cheshunt Grammar School

Cheshunt Grammar SchoolThe County School was built in Windmill Lane in 1935 and became the first grammar school in our district, changing its name over the years to Cheshunt Modern School, Cheshunt Grammar School, and, finally, in 1971, to Cheshunt School.

The school moved to the Bishopslea site in September 1992 and remains there to this day. The old school was demolished and became a housing estate, with street names reflecting the names of past people at the school.

We are currently producing a programme about Cheshunt Grammar School, which includes archive film, old photographs, interviews with former pupils and staff including Mr and Mrs Gwenlan, Deputy Head Mrs Stewart and Headmaster Mr Moxom.

If you attended Cheshunt Grammar School during the 1950s and early 60s and would to take part in the programme, please contact us.

We will be updating this page with further details as the project develops.

Update: 20 September 2009
Filming/interviews of former pupils will recommence in October 2009.
