History and Horror at Cedars Park

darker-side-of-cedars-park-mike-dewbreyCedars Park in Cheshunt was the perfect setting for a night of pre-Halloween fun on Thursday evening as the “Darker Side of Cedars” walk stormed into its second year of success.

At 4.45 as the park was darkening Cedars resident ghoul Indiana Bones led a group of nervous youngsters into the gloomy grounds. Superbly performed by Mike Dewbrey, Indiana captivated the children with tales of history, horror and a few carefully placed skulls! Even mums and dads were left looking over their shoulders as Indiana weaved his magic and brought to life stories of mourning widows and disgruntled nuns.

Catering to the interests of his older audience, Mike hung up his Indiana Bones costume for the adults walk later in the evening. Painting an impressive picture of the palace which once stood at Cedars, Mikes`s enthusiasm was as refreshing as it was informative. Amidst the history there was still plenty of time for ghost stories with the now pitch-black park adding that extra ounce of terror.
